MAKES 6 ROTI’S : EASY - MESSY

PREP TIME : 10 MINUTES

COOKING TIME : 3-5 MINUTES

INGREDIENTS                                               

  • 1.5 cup buckwheat flour

  • 1/2 cup of filtered water 

  • 1 tsp of olive oil

  • 1/4 tsp ajwain seeds

  • 1 tsp salt

  • ghee to cook with

METHOD

  1. Place the flour in a bowl and add the water in slow increments.

  2. Slowly begin to stir the flour and water together until the flour begins to blend together. Once it was been mixed well together place the mixture on a clean surface.

  3. Begin to knead the mixture together to create a smooth texture.

  4. After a minute of kneading add the olive oil, ajwain seeds and salt and continue to knead until mixed.

  5. Set aside for 5 minutes

  6. Make 6 balls from the dough mixture. Dust one ball with dry buckwheat flour and roll it in a circle using a rolling pin.

  7. Transfer the roti over a preheated pan or skillet.

  8. Apply some oil or ghee and cook the roti on low to medium heat on both sides till done.

  9. Repeat the same with remaining dough balls.

  10. Serve roti with dhal, soup or simple enjoy with some ghee and avocado
